Robert “Butch” Powell – Sr. Pastor

Pastor Butch Powell was raised in the Red Bank area (mill hill as it was once called) and took his first steps of faith when he was only 9 years old. He grew up in Red Bank Baptist Church under the Ministry of Preacher Raymond B. Day and became his Associate in 1978 and Sr. Pastor when Preacher Day retired. God has called him to serve once again in this capacity for which he is very thankful and honored that God has opened this door for him at South Lexington Baptist Church, he now serves at the church which began as a Mission Church of Red Bank Baptist Church. Pastor Butch married his childhood sweetheart, Susan (Bedenbaugh) Powell in 1969. They have been blessed with two sons (now married) Rob (Jamie) and Josh (Allison).
